Myopia in kids, also called nearsightedness, is the inability to see clearly at distance. Myopia is affecting our children at an earlier age than ever before. While genetics play a part, so does lifestyle.

The presentation about Myopia and treatments available will last for 20-30 minutes, followed by a live Q&A with Dr. Jeri to answer your questions.

The staff at Highline Vision Center is very professional and they work together to ensure an excellent experience. They have mastered COVID-19 safety measures. Dr. Steffen is the best! She has a way of making you feel like you are her only client! She takes the time to ensure that she answers your every question. Professionally, I have worked with many eye doctors over the years. I have found that the staff at Highline Vision Center is among the absolute best, the doctors are all amazing, and the way they treat their patients as well beyond expectations. This has been our family eye doctor for years. Normally we see Dr. Doyle but I have seen Dr. Jeri and today we saw Dr. Redmond and she was great. Everybody is very thorough and very friendly. Justin is such a great optician and really cares about what he’s doing. Brigitte is fantastic as well as Kinisha. Melissa has always been more than helpful and often catches things to fix them before they even break it seems. All in all we love them and we actually look forward to going to the eye doctor!

Here’s my rundown. I was running late and called to tell them and they were able to accommodate me an hour later so took it. I was 15 minutes late so I understood that. The appointment started in time and techs were pleasant we chatted it up about brunch. My doctor was beyond happy and thrilled about helping me see again. And then I had a minor wait for the design center but I was able to pick out my lenses while I was waiting. That checkout took a bit I guess there’s a lot of steps in the computer to order lenses but Brigitte was great and also nice to talk with. All in all a good experience that was timely and got me what I needed.

We are new to Highline vision center. I brought my son here who has Downs Syndrome. Although he has been to another optometrist that specialized in children's eye care, this was the first time an eye doctor did not base their recommendation on a five minute exam and his primary diagnosis of Downs Syndrome. Dr. Redmond took the time to get to know my son and really worked to listen to him and collect her own data to decide on how best to meet my son's needs. She and her staff were incredibly patient were great with my kiddo. I have never left an eye appointment for my son (and we've had many)feeling more confident that the recommendations made for him were based on data rather than just the basic assumption that the needs of people with Downs Syndrome are all the same (and btw they're not!) than I did from this appointment.

Recently had to go in for a nasty scratch on my cornea. Dr. Doyle was able to see me immediately and made time to care for the injury and explained everything thoroughly. He was very knowledgeable and explained each step as he was mending the scratch. I had to go back in the same day for some pain management and again I was seen immediately by Dr. Redmond. Even though they were busy they still took time and cared for me. I am beyond impressed with these doctors and their staff. The ladies at the front desk were very accommodating and remembered me every time I came back for follow ups. The techs were all very caring as well and used humor to lighten up the situation. Overall they are all very professional, caring and have great bed side manner. I would highly recommend them for your eye care needs. We also go here for our routine eye care needs. My wife and I both have prescription glasses through them. They don’t rush the exams and as a result my corrected vision is far better than it ever has been. They dialed me in to 15/20 vision with my glasses.

Dr. Jerry and her staff at Highline Vision Center are a cut above. We have been taking our family there for a few years now and by far the most extensive eye exam we have ever had. Our 5 children (12 - 4) 3 of which wear glasses are very comfortable with Dr. Jerry and her amazingly friendly staff. We highly recommend Highline Vision Center.

I have been with HIGHLINE vision center for over 20 years! My sons were both vision therapy kids and the support and knowledge of how to help them see better and perform better in reading and writing was amazing! I enjoy seeing the employees who have been there for a long time, and also meeting the newer ones. Their optical department is superb and they work with you to find just what you want and can afford! The people are always pleasant and they can meet all of your needs. They will refer you to someone they know is good if you need services outside of their realm or if you have HMO insurance that will cover more of the cost for you. Wonderful people and wonderful services!

I have been coming to the amazing people for over 15 years. Amazing service and patient with clients. I was part of the vision therapy as a young and through the dedication and time of the staff my tracking and reading scores were a million times better. I have been with Highline Vision for many years and will continue to do so. They do a thorough exam and answer all of your questions. You get personalized service year after year. The doctors are up to date on the latest technology and make recommendations based on your needs. It’s never a hard sale. They offer several options and exams which are not covered by insurance but allow insight to help your eyes including vision therapy. I have a VSP plan with an allowance for glasses and contacts. I often panic when I see their prices for frames but after searching a few pairs I am always able to find something in my budget. The staff is patient and will adjust your glasses anytime even after purchase until you are happy. Dr Redmond has a full schedule but if you book a few months out you can get on her calendar. Don’t plan on a quick in and out here, your eyes are important, so spend the time.. it’s worth it!

My first visit to this business, had a very pleasant experience from front desk check in through the eye exam to checking out. Dr Jenna and her assistant were thoroughly engaging and caring during my eye exam and explained every test before performing them. I left having had a comprehensive eye exam and an update on the current state of my eye health with recommendations for prescription lenses, etc. I will use Highline Vision again and recommend them.

Highline Vision has a great team. Dr Jerry is knowledgeable and well experienced. Stephanie works with me for vision therapy and I must say... "she is amazing" ! These people actually work as a team and are always going above and beyond to ensure that my needs are being met. Very helpful when it comes to scheduling appointments that accommodate my needs for travel. I live over 300 miles away and do not mind the drive knowing that I'm in good hands when it comes to my vision. Keep up the good work guys!

VERY impressed. I moved out here to help with my father who recently suffered a stroke and has had some vision complications as a result. I dropped by Highline after seeing their great reviews and was utterly blown away. I was greeted by Melissa in the optical department and we got to talking about my father. I mentioned a few of the general challenges he has been facing and not only did she immediately know exactly what his condition was (Homonymous hemianopsia--and she pronounced it correctly!), she also knew a lot about it's causes, diagnosis, treatments and prognosis! I have not met anyone, other than the specialty doctors I have taken my father to, that has known anything about his condition. She gave me some wonderful recommendations for my father's glasses and lenses as well as a great sense of confidence in Highline. If the rest of the staff is anything like her, you can be sure they genuinely know what they're doing!

Best experience I’ve ever had at a doctor office. From the moment I walked in I was treated kindly. The office staff was friendly and helpful. My wait to see my doctor was not even long enough to fill out the paperwork. The optometrist assistant was skilled and informative. Doctor Steffan was knowledgeable, kind and experienced. She is the first doctor to listen to my wishes and she gave me all the information that I needed for lasik, which I’ve been wanting to do for a decade. In the meantime, I was able to get night and day contacts. I loved my experience and will be back for everyone in my family.

Starting from the call, the process of getting the all your information in the back with the little tests and seeing the doctor. Things have always run smoothly. I have even moved out of the country and I return here to get thing's taken care. They go above and beyond to make you you are taken care. Then your process of picking out glasses and/or contacts goes just as smoothly and they make sure you are give all details up front about insurance. Thank for making thing's so easy.

ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! I walked in a week or so ago for a glasses adjustment and Melissa, the optician that helped me, far surpassed all expectations. She was kind, professional and efficient and did a fantastic job with my glasses. However, it was what she did after that impressed me so deeply. While I was getting my glasses adjusted Melissa and I got to chatting and ended up talking about my dad who has been diagnosed with dementia and recently had to move to a retirement home. I jokingly mentioned that his glasses have been quite crooked for some time now and that she ought to make house calls for adjustments as he has been too unwell to go out. Fast forward to that Thursday and lo and behold Melissa is there on her day off with an entire tool kit adjusting not only my dad's glasses but all the other folks' as well! She had flowers, cookies and a smile that lit up the whole place. She even stayed to visit for several hours talking with everyone. I tell you, it has been MONTHS since I last saw my dad smile, let alone heard him laugh. The light she brought to everyone that day was the greatest gift in the world and I will never forget that kindness! I will always go back to Highline and recommend Melissa to everyone!

Dr. Redmond and her staff are fantastic, I don't trust my eye health to anyone else. Choosing this office vs. one of those places that packages eye exams and glasses is like choosing to have your car serviced at a quick lube vs the dealership. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against using a quick lube, or eye package place, but the depth of service, knowledge, and quality are very different. Going to Highline is not only about my eye prescription, but my eye health and what it shows about my overall health like high blood pressure, and diabetes. The eye imaging is fantastic vs. dialation, plus you have a true record of your eyes health throughout the years.

Life changing! Let me explain. Highline Vision Center is definitely a Grade A vision center, with amazing amenities, in a very desirable location in Southlands - that’s the easy part. But what sets Dr. Doyle and H.V.C. apart is the absolute attention to detail and professionalism displayed by the Staff and the other M.D.’s. (Quick Story) I stopped in to by some items for my lenses, and my appointment was 2 days later. I was offered an appointment then and there and Dr. Doyle said “no”, reason...bc he did not feel the quality of service would be beneficial to “me” the customer, by being just “thrown in time slot” to fill gaps. Damn!...if that’s not an awesome Doctor, I don’t know what is. Quality over Quantity! Back to the life changing part! I went to Highline for a typical routine check after about 2 years to get my usual script and maybe a new pair of glasses (boring! I know). But Dr. Doyle recommended something called “Scoleral lenses” since I have a retina issue called “Kerataconus” and have had to choose between hard contacts (which hurt) and soft contact lenses (that gave me severe dry eye and pain). So I went 5 years using just glasses. When Dr. Doyle gave me final tweaked Scoleral lenses, it was as if, the world was brand new again. My face was back - no more bulky glasses, I could go back to my active lifestyle running, playing basketball, shooting at the range and OMG wearing sunglasses!!!!...I was so excited I bought brand new pair of bad@$$ Maui Jim’s the same day. Lol Dr. Doyle - HVC Staff!...thank you for changing my life and giving me back what I was missing ...less boundaries. Those Scoleral (hope I’ve been spelling it right) lenses have made life more enjoyable, but most of all, have altered my perception and biases about the latest and greatest in vision technology, and all that fancy stuff you have there. Lmao...I thought it was all voodoo gadgets to take my money, but you really care and showed me what my options were and looked for solutions to best fit my needs now and in the future. I know this was long, but thank you for changing my life! Hopefully someone will read this long @$$ Review and you can help them change theirs too. Best wishes! God is great.

My daughter and I have been seeing Dr. Jeri for 20 years. Best practice around, best care around. Vision therapy made a huge difference when my daughter was young. Dr. Jeri tested kids at Arrowhead school when Heather was in second grade. She's 25, a college graduate and applying for a Masters program. My eyes have been her nemesis but she continues to fight the battle and I see better now at 57 than I have my whole life. The staff is so friendly and personable. Don't go anywhere else!
